Swallow
Swallow therapy addresses swallowing disorders…
A swallow disorder (dysphagia) refers to difficulty chewing, controlling, or swallowing food, liquid, or even pills. Symptoms include coughing, choking, changes in vocal quality, throat-clearing, and/or the sensation of a lump in your throat during or after meals. Dysphagia can result from neurological conditions such as stroke or Parkinson’s Disease. It may also result from radiation treatment for head and neck cancer. In some instances, dysphagia can be psychogenic in nature, appearing after a traumatic incident related to eating/drinking.
